Cathedral and Cadîz, Spain

These past two days have been packed full of activities.  Friday afternoon we toured the beautiful Cathedral of Sevilla.  It was built in 1248 so it is beyond old.  It is either the third largest or fifth largest (we've heard both) in the world.  I was amazed by it's size.  Also at the Cathedral is La Geralda which is what the big tower on the Plaza is modeled after.  It is so cool to see the similarities in the tile and architecture.  Little details remind me of home.

Today we went to Jerez and Cadîz.  In Jerez we toured the largest winery in Europe.  They produce Sherry wine and have 50,000 barrels stored in this building.  While we were there we got to see a horse show.  There was a trainer who brought the horse into the arena and the horse performed a dance.  It was so cool!  I had no idea horses were trained to do that type of thing.  After the winery we drove about twenty minutes to the city of Cadîz where we toured the Cathedral and went to the beach.  The Cathedral was a let down compared to the one in Sevilla however, it provided a beautiful view of the city.  The beach in Cadîz was stunning.  Rocks naturally in the surf and blue water, not to mention the large waves!  When we left the bus in the morning it was cloudy and cool so we did not bring our bathing suits.  Of course by the time we were ready to go to the beach it was warm and sunny.  We decided that since Cadîz is close to Sevilla (hour and fifteen minutes) that we are going to make a day trip there some other day.
